Facing life's challenges takes courage and while there is always a path toward change, we sometimes need support along the way. Counseling can help increase self-awareness leading to healthier choices, effective coping skills and improved communication, elevating overall wellness and life satisfaction. Learning to manage anxiety and depression, coping with grief or trauma, family relationship conflict and recovery from substance abuse are common problems I work on with clients. Together, we can navigate what often seems overwhelming when faced alone.
I offer evidenced-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing. My experience working in agency settings treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders provided opportunities to also work with families as they recover from unhealthy dynamics that can form when a loved one lives with substance dependency.
It is my goal to develop a genuine and collaborative relationship with each client to provide a safe and supportive space. Together we can explore how the past informs the present and identify and work toward desirable changes. I can be a sounding board to help gain clarity and welcome the opportunity to speak with you!
