I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with abundant experience working with children, families, schools, and parents. Both my professional and personal experiences have shaped my areas of interest in life transitions, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and parenting skills. My two years of work in Shanghai, China have given me valuable practice in culturally competent counseling, while decades of working as a School Counselor have solidified my commitment to a compassionate and collaborative approach to meeting life's challenges, growing into one's best self with continued joy and value for others.

I have training in Solution-Based Brief Therapy and am certified in teaching Mindfulness, both of which are especially helpful when working with clients to achieve their desired outcomes as they navigate life's expected and unexpected ups and downs. I place a strong emphasis on developing a collaborative alliance with my clients so they can live more fully.

I offer empathy, warmth, hope, and care as I empower people to be their best. Although I have worked for decades with families, I now especially enjoy working with mature adults who have devoted their lives to caring for others or a career and now find themselves asking, "What about me? How do I want to be and function in a way that matters?"
