Working with clients has taught me each client, couple, and/or family is unique and deserves a treatment plan that is formulated to their needs. I have discovered that my job is to meet the client where they are and to utilize a modality or set of modalities that best serves my clients. I have learned to help clients peel back the layers so you can address what brought you into therapy. I am happy working with individuals as well as people in relationships, couples, and people with open and polyamorous relationship styles. My goal is to help give you the tools to improve all the relationships in your life.
I love working with people of Latino decent at different levels of acculturation, adults, couples, families, and the LGBTQ+ community. I am culturally sensitive, mindful of values and belief systems, levels of shame and guilt, as well as strengths, in order to tease out the best of them in therapy.
Clients come in different shapes and sizes, but so do therapist. There is no cookie-cutter approach to therapy, and what may work with one client or couple may not work with another. It is important to be familiar with a variety of theories. The more eclectic a therapist is, the more a therapist will be able to weave different theories into sessions.
