It can be scary & frustrating when you don’t feel like yourself & don’t know why you feel this. You’ve tried everything to help with your mood changes, overwhelming feelings of nervousness, guilt and not feeling good enough, but nothing seems to work. It can be scary reaching out to a therapist because you want to find someone who really connects with you. I began my training in 2011 and completed it at The Menninger Clinic. I believe in creating an alliance with my clients. My warm & compassionate demeanor allows me to empathize with my clients, put them at ease & help them open up.
I help clients from diverse cultures build courage to change, manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and personality disorders. I encourage them to be self-compassionate, empower them to form healthier relationships, and support them through family issues and relationship struggles so they can live healthier lives for themselves and their families.
As a Pakistani-Muslim therapist, I can do therapy in English, Urdu, & Hindi. I am also an Adjunct Professor teaching future therapists. Because emergencies aren’t planned, I can see you as soon as possible. Together we’ll create a customized treatment plan to fit your personal needs. To schedule call 713-999-4583 or email me. Groups
Sakina Siblings Group (Dar-us-Sakina)
I lead a process group which focuses on helping siblings of persons with special needs. They explore how their identities have been shaped by being a sibling to someone with special needs, and who they are aside from that. They examine issues affecting their relationships, school, and work environment. They explore how to create healthy dynamics, have accountability and receive feedback within the group. The group takes place through telehealth once/month on Mondays at 5pm.
