| español My name is Maira and my pronouns are she/her/ella. I ideally would like to work with college-aged, first-generation Latinas however, I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I see a variety of presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, school issues, and behavioral issues. Individuals who would benefit from working with me are those seeking a bilingual Latinx therapist. I provide prescriptive therapy and use a strength-based perspective. My goal is to assist and guide clients to their version of success, by giving kindness, respecting you, and challenging you when needed.
I provide prescriptive therapy, which means I will provide interventions based on each client's needs. I also incorporate play therapy because we all deserve to bring out our inner child. I use a variety of modalities such child-centered play therapy, talk therapy, sand tray therapy, and expressive arts.
I am a first-generation Latina raised by a single mother. I understand the world can be unfair, but I believe that with support and community, a person can achieve their version of success instead of the "success" society says you must have.
