I am a queer, nonbinary, adoptee born in China who was raised by white parents. My experience as an adoptee left me feeling alone, lost, and like I did not belong anywhere. I know this is a common experience amongst adoptees and especially transracial adoptees. I want to create a space where you can feel heard, validated, and seen. American culture enforces the idea that you owe something to your family or parents and that there is no room for boundaries, but I believe that all relationships are optional and that you deserve to have your space too.
Sometimes being forced to be in relationship with others, the stress that you can experience with any oppressed identity, or just existing can make life feel like a chore. Feeling like waking up is a daily task and that death is a close friend is okay.
We will use a systems, justice oriented, and anti-oppressive lens when thinking of ways for you to cope with existing in this physical world. I want to support you in finding more day to day joy in your life that helps make existing in this world more tolerable and support you along your journey in finding out what makes you feel good.
