Starting therapy can be uncomfortable, and it takes a lot of strength to begin exploring therapy options and make the commitment to improve your wellbeing. I strive for a warm, genuine, and comfortable atmosphere in my sessions (also sprinkling in humor when appropriate) to create a positive and empowering experience. Please reach out with questions or to get to know me better! My past experience revolves around helping children (10+), adults, and families navigate a wide range of challenges: Trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, life transitions, relationship conflict, PTSD, neurodivergence, phobias, and substance use.
I enjoy doing trauma work with my clients as many mental health challenges stem from trauma; it's amazing to see how much relief people can feel. Regardless of diagnoses, each person is unique. I draw from different therapies to meet each person where they are. I tend to use DBT/CBT (for coping skills); mindfulness-based techniques, and emotion-focused work.
I specialize in EMDR (see emdria.org for more info) which is used to help people process through trauma as well work through loss, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and phobias. I also like to implement parts work or IFS into EMDR therapy to help people explore and resolve conflicts between different parts of themselves and understand themselves better.
