I have always been fascinated with how love works. We all want love and connection. And we all have things in our lives and our past that prevent us from giving and receiving love fully. My passion and my training is helping people be “in relationship” in a healthy and fulfilling way. I want While my credentials, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, implies that I work with couples and families, I also work with individuals who want to feel more empowered and fulfilled in their social connections both inside and outside of family.
With couples, I use the Gottman Method which is a research-based approach designed to help couples “disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.”
With families, I use structural family therapy to create an enviroment where parents feel empowered and children feel safe, supported, and nurtured. I especially enjoy working with blended families as they redefine relationships, recognize their difference roles and helping stepparents find their place in the family.
