The original roots of psychotherapy stem from tending to the soul and over time this truth has been forgotten. In collaboration, we will develop a space that honors your roots and all your experiences. Climate anxiety and climate grief are also realities today that we are all trying to navigate. Exploring and cultivating a path that illuminates all of your gifts, and strengths while seeding new ideas and opportunities. Our root system is like our belief system understanding your truth becomes the consciousness - light that allows new growth to emerge.

In the therapeutic space, the truth belongs to the client, not to the therapist's right to define it. My practice centers on addressing the fractures caused by trauma, capitalism, and materialism—forces that separate us from each other and the natural world. These fractures have led to an emotional and spiritual famine, manifesting as widespread anxiety, violence, addiction, and chronic loneliness.

We’ve all lost our way at some point in life, whether due to a traumatic event, relationship issues, or difficult life transitions. In facing these challenges, I believe it is possible for you step into your most authentic self. Fundamental to my work is the belief that healing happens in the context of healthy and reciprocal relationships, whether that is relationship with yourself, others around you, and/or your environment. I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that centers consent, agency, and autonomy where all identities and experiences are welcome.

My work is rooted in the belief that there is nothing wrong with us. We just need support in finding what works and what doesn’t work and integrating the myriad parts of ourselves. I work within a relational framework and value collaboration every step of the way. It is also my commitment to create a safe space where the complexity of identity and experience is honored and affirmed.

By listening with deep compassion and acceptance, I collaborate with people as they expand their ability to belong to themselves. Through our time together we will affirm your inherent goodness during troubling life events. Our feelings and sensations are a natural and organic response to life. Our bodies, being the center of human experience, are the greatest sources of guidance through feelings, sensations, and reactions. When our natural response to life is shamed or rejected we cease belonging to life and to ourselves. When we are able to allow these feelings to flow through us, our whole selves become a part of life.

I work with individuals, couples and families looking for understanding, safety and connection in their lives. Whether the difficulty and pain you experience comes from trauma, neglect, abandonment or relationship conflict I believe you have the capacity and right to heal, feel good and live a good life; and that you can! I've worked with people recovering from childhood neglect, sexual and emotional abuse and the lack of connection that comes from preoccupied, distant, disconnected and or self absorbed parents. I'm constantly amazed at the power of this work.

My mission is to help my clients better understand who they are, what they want from this life, and how to move towards a more integrated self. My alternative style of therapy blends traditional talk therapy with non-traditional therapeutic methods such as nature therapy, mindfulness-based practices, music, art, movement, and nature-based groups. I have found both personally and professionally that nature, creative expression, and physical activity set the stage for healing and growth, and I enjoy incorporating these elements into my therapeutic approach.

I offer a variety of skills and specialities in areas of anxiety, anger, OCD, life transitions, relationship issues and mood disorders.
Currently accepting 12 Steps of Anger Management group members! Through my experience as a therapist in the mental health field, I've come to believe that change occurs through gaining insight into our own thinking processes. When we begin to learn more about our thinking patterns, which generally arise from past experiences, we begin to change the way we feel. The therapeutic journey begins by identifying reoccurring themes. The process continues by coaching you to master your triggers and develop counter actions. It is through this process that you will be empowered to handle your life problems with more ease.

I’ve helped people who struggled with controlling their fear, anger, guilt, shame, mood swings, anxiety, depression, compulsion and addictions.
Email preferred. Does life ever feel like a maze, with a dead end around every corner? Does it ever feel like the more you try to untangle the threads of your mind, the tighter the knots become? I compare my role as therapist to be a guide, someone who listens carefully and guides you through your unique maze, pointing out potential pitfalls and celebrating scenic views. I offer a calm space to allow you to open up, process your experiences, and take steps forward. For years I’ve worked with people who wrestled with grief over various losses such as death, divorce, chronic illness, unemployment and estranged relationships.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
