I specialize in: Marital/ Relationship issues.
The purpose of life is to live a joyous existence. Sometimes easier said than done. But therapy is about empowering people to do just that. Figuring out how to, for example, like yourself better; unapologetically and adeptly be the real you; engage meaningfully and effectively with others; recover from an affair or other breach of trust; navigate divorce and remarriage. What you privately think & feel about yourself; what you think and feel about your relationships, and how skillfully you operate are fundamental to quality of life. I have over 30 years experience assisting individuals and couples achieve their best lives.

My warm, compassionate, down-to-earth style helps us build a strong therapeutic relationship.
You may have been emotionally, sexually, verbally, physically abused and/or neglected. You may be a survivor of Parental Alienation, another form of abuse; a child or the targeted parent. You want to be healed, not just struggling in life. You want your terrifying panic attacks that no one understands to be gone. You want to stop struggling and live the life you were meant to. You want your relationship with yourself and others to be healthier. Is the abuse/neglect you survived still affecting your life? It doesn't have to anymore. There is hope and healing. PTSD, Complex-PTSD (C-PTSD), Agoraphobia, and panic can be healed forever.

With 18 years of clinical experience, I have worked with diverse client groups facing a wide-range of issues from depression, anxiety, trauma and substance abuse to coping with work-related stress, life transitions and relationship challenges.
Overwhelmed by workplace challenges and family demands? Overwrought over disappointing relationships? Overextended and unable to find a way to bring balance to your life? A new perspective, new insights, can overcome some of these negative 'overs', and I believe that, as an empathic and well-trained therapist, I may well be able to help.

As an experienced clinician, I find myself most compatible with individuals who seek to make positive changes in their lives. I support my clients in their efforts to confront their challenges and overcome emotional barriers. I work best with adults who feel burdened with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or relationship issues. I welcome individual clients and couples, who seek to address the conflicts in their relationships. I value the capacity to laugh and learn, and I encourage my clients to embrace these as recovery tools. Additionally, my clients must love, or at least like basset hounds, as they are my receptionists.

Seeking the support of a clinician can be the first step in achieving freedom from troubling feelings or conflict. Engaging in a therapeutic relationship with the right clinician can create opportunity to gain insight and perspective to stay on track with identifying and pursuing your goals. There are many reasons why one seeks out counseling. Some issues may revolve around relationships, family, raising children, difficulty at work, school, substance use or any issue which causes one distress.

Whether to gain healthier coping strategies or to foster a more meaningful relationship with yourself, your child or partner, I enjoy working with clients who may be apprehensive to start therapy and those eager to begin their journey.
Through years of home and community-based mental health experience, I've developed a passion for helping children, adolescents, and adults deepen their connections to others and to themselves. As a former clinician in early intervention, I've worked closely with clients facing peri- and postnatal mood and anxiety symptoms, those impacted by NICU journeys, trauma and loss, neurodiversity, complex medical conditions, new or chronic mental health symptoms, ADHD and attachment disruptions. For adults and parents, children and teens, I bring a warm, collaborative and client-centered approach to therapy.

I help young adults, including college students and young professionals, navigate life concerns that are common during this stage of life, including anxiety, depression, and the various experiences related to life transitions. I also have a special interest in treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with this population. Reaching out to start therapy can be intimidating for many; I work to provide a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space from the very beginning— many clients report feeling comfortable from the initial consultation call. I work well with clients who’ve never been to therapy or are nervous to retry it.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
