The stress of daily life can affect us in different areas; career, financial, relationship and family issues. As time passes, if we are not mindful of behaviors, things can fester increasing symptoms of anxiety, and depression. My approach is to unravel false belief systems, with either solution focused, and at the Client's choice, a psycho-dynamic, psychotherapy approach. Sometimes we need to look at the past. I believe it is acceptable to focus on present day solutions. Overwhelming feelings can be a detour to our true authentic selves. Counseling is to effectively set, and achieve, goals to be our true, unique, authentic selves.

I also have experience with adolescent substance abuse counseling.
At this time, I am NOT able to take any new clients. My ideal client is a person or family who is seeking change and who is looking for a therapist with an energetic, actively-involved, solution-focused style. When working with children, I use play therapy and will invite parents to play with us while teaching them what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. I will also teach the parents how to reinforce the same skills at home through play or other techniques. When working with teens and adults, I adjust my style in order to build a connection.

I have helped clients and families through issues including anxiety and depression, parenting challenging children, career difficulties, issues related to sexuality and gender identity, ADHD, life stress, work-life balance, relationship issues, and more. As someone who has struggled with both anxiety and depression at various points in my life, I come at the therapeutic process with both personal and professional knowledge, and always keep in mind those things that were most helpful to me when I was the one seeking a therapist.

No open spots at this time:. I have worked in the mental health field since 2012 in various positions and levels of care which brought me to starting my private practice in 2019. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adult/adult populations, mostly in an individual setting. Every individual and family is unique, therefore, one model does not fit all. My personal style is multifaceted; I refer to a plethora of approaches while providing psychotherapy and education along the way.

I bring curiosity and respect to each therapeutic relationship. I want to learn about what has and hasn't worked for you in the past and what your goals are, and consider treatment a collaborative, dynamic process. I want to ensure that you feel empowered in the therapy room. To me, this means honoring you as the expert of your own lived experiences and welcoming feedback. I believe that mental health care is political and I aim to validate your experiences living within oppressive systems while also creating space for you to feel free and live a life aligned with your values.
