A person-centered approach is central to my work, and I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to a successful healing process.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) skilled in providing therapy to individuals ages 15-80 years old. With over 7 years of clinical experience working with young adults and children, as well as 5 years of crisis management experience with individuals of all ages, I understand the importance of advocating for my clients, especially when they are unable to do so for themselves. I also recognize the necessity of a team-based approach to create and implement effective treatment goals for each individual.

A comprehensive evaluation is often the first step in understanding an individual's difficulties, cognitive profile and learning differences. Working for years in ADHD clinics and neurodevelopmental centers has fostered my expertise in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment recommendations for various cognitive, behavioral and emotional disorders in children and adults. I also have expertise in assessing the neurocognitive effects of chronic Lyme disease and fetal alcohol syndrome. All therapy and testing services are currently provided via telehealth.

I'm not a fan of flowery language or vague, idealistic words. My clients are real people who are contending with the struggles of life. They are frequently intelligent, complex, skilled, and hardworking. They're often looking to explore an issue they can't share with other people in their lives or one that others seem worn out on discussing. They might feel stuck, or like they've missed out on something important on their journey to becoming their current self. They might struggle with a relationship, problematic feelings, or behaviors that don't make sense. My clients are looking for the opportunity to set some things in order.

Immediate openings! Congratulations on taking the first step to living your best life. Change can be scary, but with the right support, it can open doors to a life you never imagined. I have been in the therapy world for about 8 years now and through this journey, I have learned that there is not a single story that is the same. Therapy should be about the individual and meeting them where they’re at. I utilize an eclectic range of therapy modalities to help you identify your starting point and also identify what life will look like at the end of your therapy journey. I will start where you are at and we can work together as a team.

As an Acute/Critical Care Nurse Practitioner, I was not cognizant of the impact of mental illness on family and society, until I decided to pursue a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Degree. I believe that societal stigmatization of mental illness, and the shame felt by families who have a loved one with mental illness, makes it difficult for these patients to recover, and live peacefully for the rest of their lives. Psychiatric illness should be treated like a medical illness with no stigma, no blame or shame.

As a high-performing professional woman or at-home mom, you are exhausted mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. You smile and take on the day, avoiding your emotional or physical pain by staying busy. While engaging in your vocation at the highest level, you can no longer ignore your anxiety, depression, trauma, compassion fatigue and medical symptoms. You figured it out, you know you can no longer do it alone. You are looking for a highly trained, experienced expert to walk you through the muck you are standing in. You are smart enough to know that your life isn't meant to be a drag, chore after chore.
