Confidence, meaningful relationships, and a sense of purpose are fundamental to well-being. The journey toward these elements can be limited by depression, anxiety, trauma, and difficult life transitions. In my thirteen years of practice, I have found that healing rarely happens in a vacuum. Therefore, my approach focuses on creating an authentic and connected space where we can delve into your experiences, thoughts, and emotions, empowering you to chart your unique path forward.

I have been a psychotherapist for 20 years. My practice specializes in helping men redefine their approach to relationships in a way that feels authentic, and in line with healthy male emotional development. I specialize in self-esteem, self-actualization, and helping men build and maintain attraction and intimacy. The foundation for male self-esteem begins in childhood and sets the foundation for men to share themselves in relationships, feel successful, and being a meaningful part of their children's lives. I also specialize in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in men and women, as well as recovery from abusive relationships.

My practice is anchored in a play-based drama therapy method called Developmental Transformations (DvT), the neurosequential model of therapeutics, trauma-informed expressive arts therapy, attachment theory, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.
Hi there! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, expressive arts therapist, and certified yoga instructor based out of Cambridge, MA. I believe in collaboratively and consensually building working relationships with clients to make space for untangling, reclaiming, transforming, and navigating the instability of life. I aim to create inclusive spaces, especially for those with intersectional identities, and value culturally competent and trauma-informed practice. I work with children and adults to reclaim their innate resilience through an integrated approach of both feeling AND dealing.

I have also worked extensively with the LGBT community and with trauma survivors.
Have you lost someone close to you, whether through divorce, a breakup, or death, and find your grief taking over your life? Are you questioning your sexual orientation or gender? Are you experiencing post-traumatic stress symptoms? You don't have to do it alone. I work collaboratively and compassionately with my clients to help them come to some kind of peace with whatever they're struggling with. I believe that everyone has a strong inner core that can get eclipsed by traumas both large and small. Together you and I would work to find and reclaim that core.

For people struggling with PTSD or social anxiety I want you to know there is good, reliable treatment out there that is not simply telling your story over and over again.
Struggling with something bad that happened recently or in the past? Can’t stop worrying no matter what you try? Dreading social situations and fear of what others think but also really not wanting to miss out? You’ve made it to the right place. I’m Jordan and I help people with all of the above and more. My basic take is that life is pretty hard and by no fault of our own we get stuck in patterns that don’t work. Many times we can get out of them alone but sometimes we need some help. Warm compassion and specific expertise in what you’re dealing with could go a long way towards getting unstuck.

I focus on couples, trauma, and working through attachment challenges new and old.
Typically my clients arrive at therapy when the coping skills they have used their whole lives stop working as effectively. A sudden loss, rejection, adverse life experience, or sense of stuckness can reveal an underlying working model of self and the world that no longer works. Through our work together, I will help you access a new healthier model to guide your choices, along with improved coping skills, community resources, and social supports. As an EFT couples therapist, I bring a relational attachment model to all my work.

I too have worked through severe depression, anxiety, panic, PTSD, complications from head trauma, and chronic pain/illness from a severe ski accident.
Working together might be a great fit if you are an intelligent, typically motivated person who is ready to make positive changes that can dramatically improve your life. One of my practice mottos is "we can do more than talk about it, but we can talk about it, too." Sometimes it is really important to be heard - to get things off your chest in a warm, supportive context. But beyond that, it is also really beneficial to do things that will naturally result in feeling better. I've made it my specialty to gather as many practical maps, tools, and instructions for exactly what to do... to feel better and better: body, mind and spirit.

You can disarm the trauma and grief that has made the days so uncomfortable.
There are long, lost fears and often past traumas at play in all of us. Some surface, wreaking havoc with our lives. They can appear as grief, depression, anxiety or crisis. Others remain dormant and can surface at all the wrong times. You may appear successful, but despite your accomplishments, you are not happy or it seems like others are happier than you. Your personal relationships are not satisfying in the way you expected. Why is happiness still elusive? The uncertainty and stress of the past three years have put pressures on us which have frequently brought the worst in life to the surface.

Much of my career has been trauma-focused, to help build self-awareness and understand the mind, body connection.
Just about everything in life ebbs and flows which at times can leave you feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and defeated. It is important to remember that although life may feel heavy at this moment, it does get better and you don’t have to feel ashamed of your emotions. You are entitled to recognize and accept the individual that you are right now, while also feeling inspired and motivated by the individual you envision yourself to be in the future.

If I were to imagine an ideal client, it would be someone who wants to change no matter what their needs are. It would also be someone who is open to new and innovative treatment modalities. It is also beneficial to have someone who is not hindered in what they discuss. Everything is important.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
