Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists in Medway, MA
I have been a social worker for over 25 years. During that time I have had the opportunity to work with many individuals and families experiencing a variety of issues including trauma, addiction, grief and loss, relationship issues and stress. When left unresolved, these issues often cause other problems that prevent us from living our best lives. In therapy, we will collaborate as a team to work towards achieving your goals. I use a client-centered approach and think that developing the client-therapist relationship is essential to helping you address and alleviate the concerns you are having.

With over 20 years of experience, I bring a broad range of skills to my work with individuals, families, couples and groups. I'm a firm believer that therapy is not a "one size fits all" process. I work with my patients on their self-designed goals. I've developed what I consider to be a supportive but challenging approach to my work with people. I want to help folks get "unstuck" and move from surviving to thriving. My patients describe me as warm, down-to-earth, direct, interactive and empowering. We all deserve to create the best versions of ourselves and our relationships!

My approach to treatment is centered on creating a safe and collaborative environment for those who are seeking help. I believe in the concept that there is a continuum of health, and while at one level a behavior, thought or feeling can feel healthy, at another level this same thought, feeling or behavior can be experienced as problematic. Part of our work together may be determining what is feeling problematic to you, and how we can use your strengths to shift your experiences so that they are more in line with the life you would like to be living.

My schedule is currently full. My clients come to me looking for clarity, healing and hope that things can get better. Couples counseling is so worth the time and money when you choose to work on your relationship by actively engaging, being consistently present and make the time to find your way back to what matters. Embarking on this journey can help to illuminate the strengths and confront the challenges towards more effective communication, and discovering what repair can look like in your relationship. And if sometimes the journey heads in a different direction, we can explore those pathways as well.

The uncertainty and polarization in the world today are intensifying many of our feelings of isolation, sadness, anxiety, and depression. Some people are experiencing stress levels that seem overwhelming at times. Would you like a safe place to talk through your feelings and learn new ways to cope?

As we recover from coronavirus restrictions and disruption of family routines, many kids are anxious with worries about school, missing friends, and not being able to enjoy their normal activities. Telehealth sessions as well as in-person visits are a way to offer support and to help both kids and parents talk about the challenges they are facing. The goal of sessions is to help family members develop positive coping strategies, enhance communication and build self-confidence during this challenging time. Sometimes kids need a neutral, outside person with whom to sort their feelings. Helping kids in this way is the focus of my work.
