I work with individuals who are seeking support and counseling for issues related to problematic alcohol and substance use, addictions, and other behaviors. Many of my clients come for counseling after receiving inpatient or intensive outpatient services, or who identify as being in recovery and have been experiencing challenges such as stress, cravings, or lapses.

I am licensed in Massachusetts with 9 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, parenting issues, self esteem, confidence and motivation issues. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I work with people who have a variety of mental, emotional, and behavioral health issues, such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, trauma histories, and schizophrenia, as well as with people who have substance abuse issues. These issues could be situational in nature, or they could be chronic conditions that have been troubling for some time.

Therapy is an act of strength, hope, and resiliency. Even the happiest and most well-adjusted people may encounter problems resulting from unexpected life challenges and demands. My goal is to work in collaboration and partnership with my clients to bring about positive changes, growth, and healing from past painful events. I have 15 years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist. I received both my Master's degree and Continued Advanced Graduate Study Degree in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College. I am also certified as a cognitive behavioral therapist from Boston University School of Social Work.

I partner with my clients to improve their experience of life. We will join to provide an improved opportunity for you to enjoy your life, your relationships and yourself. I work with men and women,individuals, couples and families. I also work with older clients, as well as gay and lesbian clients. I am currently using teletherapy to work with clients while observing social distancing. It is a simple interactive video system (like skype but secure) with no downloads needed. I am currently accepting new clients.

My graduate studies were in marriage and family therapy and this has become a specialty area for me. I work very well with couples and with individuals whose emotional suffering seems to be stemming from relationship conflict. I also work with people struggling with depression, loss, anxiety, and trauma related pain. My approach has been heavily affected by my undergraduate work as well. I have a bachelor's degree in philosophy and religious studies.

My primary focus has been treating substance abuse disorders and prescription misuse, but I also have experience working with co-occurring disorders such as anxiety and mood disorders. I work closely with a psychiatric nurse practitioner to provide a comprehensive level of care for the health and welfare of my clients.

I strongly believe that each one of us wanders a unique path. Where it takes us is reliant upon the choices we make. These choices are sometimes clear and sometimes not. Often, we fail to see our options clearly because our road has affected our vision. I believe, as a therapist, that it is my responsibility to help my clients to see, understand and ultimately make the choices that are best for them. I have extensive experience working with co-morbid disorders of Mental Health and Substance Use and feel that there is difficulty when both aren't fully recognized.

I enjoy working with both men and women over the age of 12. Much of my time has been spent working with adolescent boys and middle-aged men who are going through difficult transitions. Whether you are challenged by significant depression, anxiety, anger issues, or any other mental health challenge, I use a non-judgmental, genuine approach to help you find the motivation and self- determination to get you past your struggles toward living the life you want to live.

This practice will be accepting new clients in September 2024. Most availability will be mornings and early afternoons. There are so many challenges facing youth today; drugs, gangs, peer pressure. All of these can lead to depression, anxiety and a lack of complete functioning. I specialize in treating children, adolescents and young adults in coping with the stressors of life.
