My primary focus is in providing more “bottom-up” interventions from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to assist individuals in reprocessing and healing from trauma.
Over the course of my career as a clinical social worker, I have focused my work on providing LGBTQI-affirming psychotherapy to individuals who have experienced trauma, in its many interpersonal and systemic forms. As a white queer nonbinary femme therapist, I continue to educate myself on the privileges and power dynamics inherent in my own social position in relation to my clients, and I openly work from an anti-oppression framework.

I’m a compassionate, trauma-informed, EMDR therapist with expertise in healing from narcissistic relationships.
Most people who seek out therapy with me struggle with a narcissistic relationship that is no longer manageable. At first, many of us find narcissists to be charming or misunderstood, but over time these relationships make us feel isolated, hopeless, and resentful. Once we learn how to identify narcissistic behavior, we realize something has to change. If you have difficulty creating distance from the narcissist, you are not alone. Therapy can help. During your sessions, we will work together to heal the past trauma, take your life back, and build strong boundaries for the future.

Natural adaptions to trauma, injustice, and all of life's challenges help one survive, but eventually, people want to thrive.
I believe that the answers to people's problems lie within, and that I serve as a guide to facilitate the release of blocks and the emerging of one's wholeness. My approach is psycho-spiritual, collaborative, strengths-based, holistic, with a social justice lens; that is, I see you as a whole person, and believe in the interconnectedness of body, mind and spirit. I am interested in supporting you in healing wounds, coming home to your true self, detaching from old story lines and false identities. My intention is to create a safe, supportive atmosphere where acceptance and compassion play a role in the growth and healing process.

People find this perspective particularly helpful in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep, and pain.
Welcome! Meaningful change and lasting healing happen through the co-creation of safe therapeutic spaces. Together, we can develop your capacity not only to feel better, but to be healthier. Understanding yourself is a powerful source of transformation and development. However, insight alone is not always enough to create psychological healing. I work with people to generate deep insight but also to create a new way of being and feeling in the world. For these purposes, I often incorporate both experiential and mind/brain/body therapies.

My approach to treatment is trauma informed and includes looking at how familial and systemic issues influence our patterns of thinking and behaving.
I believe clients come to therapy looking for for someone who they can feel comfortable exploring their feelings with in a safe, caring, non judgmental space. It is very important to me that I create a place where my clients feel heard, understood and respected during our work together. I believe helping people live a life of greater authenticity is an important part of the therapeutic process. Using a strength based approach, our initial sessions would include creating goals for our work together.I work with both teens and adults who are dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions ,adoption issues and trauma.

I offer an empathetic and attuned relationship, resourced in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), CBT, Motivational Interviewing, a variety of trauma-focused interventions, and mind-body practices.
My practice prioritizes those in transitional seasons - young adults leaving home for the first time, new mothers seeking support as they adjust to parenthood, women desiring clarity on next steps in career or romantic relationships, and couples hoping to shift relational dynamics. I inspire clients to gain greater awareness of their needs and how to meet those needs in healthy and holistic ways. I am practical and solution-focused while also honoring the impact of developmental and cultural experiences that often take time and careful insight to understand.

I am a licensed psychologist who is trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Patients who come to me are looking to understand the significance and meaning of their most difficult-to-solve problems—problems like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relational struggles, and self-harm. They are often patients who have not had success with short-term and/or cognitive therapies, and they have a sense that their struggles signify something more than mere dysfunction—that their problems point to something unique and unknown about themselves.

I specialize in the treatment of Trauma, PTSD and Developmental trauma.
I am a Latinx bilingual licensed psychologist dedicated to supporting people from diverse cultural and economic background as they cultivate their own resilience building practices. I use my experience working with patients to determine how to best facilitate the development of a healthy mind/body. The human psyche is beautifully complicated. It can create for us moments of exhilarating joy and excruciating pain. The key to maximize joy and minimize pain is very different for each individual. It is important to have a wide range of resilience building practices to draw from in order to create individualized self-care plans.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
