Whether you are queer, pursuing ENM/CNM/Polyamory, or have a kink or fetish, you deserve a therapist who understands the importance of these parts of your life, won't criticize or pathologize them and is with you in solidarity and community. I am pleasure-positive, kink-aware, and passionate about working with people who have been or are involved in sex work. My work is informed by an intersectional feminist lens and incorporates principles of body neutrality, and health at every size (HAES).

I ‘ve worked with people trying to reignite their creativity, those seeking relief from panic attacks, depression or the impact of past trauma on present experience. those working with challenges in relationships & families, dealing with racial trauma or identity or navigating institutions & workplaces. My ideal client is someone who wants to feel seen and heard, who is curious & wants to suffer less, more fully enjoy their life & relationships and be empowered to make their unique contribution to the world. I particularly welcome BIPOC clients, mixed race as I am, the neuro-diverse, & those who seek to do good for others.

I am a clinical social worker with an MSW from University of Albany's School of Social Welfare. Earlier graduate work was a Master of Psychology, concentrating in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally I spent over ten years working as a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator, which has offered me a unique background for working with families. In addition I completed a certificate training for working with victims of assault to enhance my knowledge of trauma and its effects.

Welcome to my practice of soul coaching and mentoring. Sometimes we reach a plateau in our lives where we have come a long way, feel a sense of accomplishment, but at the same time feel as though there's something essential missing in our lives. We have found a way to keep our heads above water, but treading water gets tedious and uninspiring. In my soul coaching sessions, you will learn how to connect with your life purpose, and how your greatest natural abilities can bring you fulfillment and a sense of wholeness.

The reasons people seek therapy are as diverse as the people themselves. I offer therapy to adults with a focus on helping them work on specific change as well as self-acceptance. Depending on people’s needs, I offer this help in the form of support, information, guidance, self-knowledge or the space to learn and practice new skills.

I believe that we are works in progress, having endless possibilities for the direction of our growth. I support clients in finding the potential for growth in challenges, to use creativity and flexibility to work productively with difficulty. I assist clients in developing clarity to identify options and expand the vision of themselves and the world. I encourage them to identify interests and pursue creative activities that help regenerate energy. I promote clients identifying both their strengths and long-held beliefs that limit growth. Developing increased awareness and positive action supports healing and the manifestation of life goals.

Thirty years of practice as a psychotherapist have offered me the privilege of coming to understand and be helpful to many people who have presented to me with diverse backgrounds and painful experiences. I work with adults who are going through difficult transitions in life (changed relationships, parenting, career moves, grief, postpartum depression and anxiety, menopause). I offer cognitive behavioral strategies, am solution focused, and provide a comfortable confidential space for my clients.

My passion is working with adult children of alcoholics and/or narcissists, generally anyone who suffered traumas that have made it feel your life is not your own, not good enough or out of control. You want to set more clear boundaries with others and likely, yourself. You always feel you can do better and never feel like enough. You do it all for everyone but you. You desire to live empowered and confidently. We can work together to support you in better understanding your needs and emotions and exploring and identifying effective toolsto meet those needs and manage your emotions in a healthy and effective way.

In the therapeutic space, the truth belongs to the client, not to the therapist's right to define it. My practice centers on addressing the fractures caused by trauma, capitalism, and materialism—forces that separate us from each other and the natural world. These fractures have led to an emotional and spiritual famine, manifesting as widespread anxiety, violence, addiction, and chronic loneliness.

I have spent the last 20 years focusing on helping adults become more comfortable within themselves. I work with my clients to develop balance through compassionate exploration of what has created difficulties for them. My focus is helping the client find the resources within themselves to manage the discomfort created by emotional dysregulation.

I support individuals and couples in understanding negative patterns of relating and developing more adaptive coping strategies to manage life's stressors. Clients describe me as warm but direct, and I strive to create an environment that allows for levity, humor, and playfulness as we work together to make sense of your problems and overcome them. I work hard with my clients, and I enjoy engaging with clients who show up ready to work. I welcome clients of all genders and sexual orientations. As a queer person, it feels especially meaningful when I can support LGBTQ+ clients.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have over thirty years of clinical experience working in various settings. I am genuinely interested in learning about what is important to my clients and starting where they are at. I have a long history of working in both the individual and family services industry and am skilled in working with all ages. I have specialized trainings in trauma therapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), and in grief & bereavement.
