Seeking help is not always easy: figuring out what to say, how to say it and if the therapist will understand are amongst just some of the beginnings. Building a good treatment relationship is something that I enjoy with adults, couples and teens. I have more than 20yrs experience in a variety of settings including group practice, private high schools, emergency rooms and insurance companies reviewing care with medical professionals. I can help you as an adult with anxiety, mood issues and overall stressors with work or life. We can figure out prospectives, increase coping options and resolve past unresolved issues, etc.

Older children, adolescents and adults will receive tools and support to better cope with and manage the inherent stress, transitions and loss that we all face as part of living.
Always coming from a place of respect, warmth and authenticity I provide psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults. It is my belief and has been my experience that individuals are resilient and have a wealth of resources within. Drawing from 27 years of training and experience in a variety of settings, we will use a collaborative approach to unearth and/or to build on strengths that develop insight and that foster healing and growth.

I equally enjoy adolescents (age 16+) and adults, using strength-based skill building approaches which are trauma & neurobiologically-informed.
Co-Founder of Maxant & Curtis Mental Health. Finding a therapist is about the "match" as much as about the skill and experience of the clinician. I find that clients who feel the "match" with my work are looking for a practical dialogue about active problem solving, as well as feelings of trust and connection. The journey to find a matching therapist can be frustrating, and I work with clients to identify that early in the process. In therapy, some of our most difficult thoughts and feelings need a safe and supportive place to be heard, and ensuring that our work will be safe and respectful to your needs is goal number one.

I have many years of experience as a psychologist, teaching, supervising and providing psychotherapy to individual adults and couples.
I incorporate a broad range of perspectives and clinical principles in an overall integrative approach to psychotherapy. At the foundation of my work is an appreciation of each individual's capacity to heal and grow and a respect for each individual's path. My desire is to assist people in living an authentic, self-aware, and satisfying life. In my couples work, I strive to assist each partner in deepening their own self-understanding and compassionately holding the experience of their partner, as the couple works together to better understand and best tend or heal their relationship.

I help high-school aged teens and adults navigate real issues like anxiety, depression, grief, stress, panic, loneliness, divorce, identity and relationship issues.
Everyone can benefit from some help once in a while, and finding a therapist who is a good fit can feel stressful and confusing. You want to feel understood, respected, and supported while getting the individual attention you need. Life is too short to be anxious or depressed all the time, surrender to bad relationships, hold grudges, or let trauma control us. I will help you get "unstuck", learn to move beyond emotional pain, and live your life in a healthier way. Whatever it is that you are facing, I believe one of the bravest things you can do is to take charge of your future and write your own story.

What would it be like to be able to look inside yourself and value what you find there? A positive, healthy connection with yourself gives you the confidence to take effective action in the world and helps you to feel worthy of self-care. Maybe, though, like so many people, you've learned to ignore your feelings and to mistrust yourself, and so it has become hard to believe that the answers you need are actually inside of you. Without a strong sense of trust in your own value and perceptions, it's all too easy to become depressed and anxious.

There's nothing wrong with you. No, really—I know you struggle, and life can feel so hard sometimes. Maybe it feels like you'll never fit in, or you can't meet the expectations placed on you. Maybe it feels impossible to live the kind of life you want as your authentic self. But this world was not designed for you. To establish a relationship with a therapist takes time and can be rewarding when you are able to build trust, knowing you are able to confide and share your perspective, your story. This process allows the individual the opportunity to gain clarity in a setting that is confidential and accepting. As an Occupational Therapist with a background in behavioral health, I take a holistic approach.
