I draw from CBT, Narrative Therapy, DBT, and IFS to tailor our sessions to your needs.
I'm genuinely excited to collaborate with individuals who have a desire to grow and make positive changes in their lives. I enjoy working with those who seek a deeper understanding of themselves and others, enabling them to be more present and fulfilled in their daily experiences. The first—and often the hardest—step is recognizing that something needs to change in your life and then to ask for support. In our sessions, we’ll work together to develop the skills necessary to achieve your goals and nurture your strengths. I foster connection by taking time to learn your unique experiences, rather than judging or pathologizing.

For day-to-day challenges, I’ll provide practical tools from CBT and DBT to help you navigate emotions and conflicts.
Do you feel like you’re constantly spinning your wheels, yet never getting anywhere? You wake up some days ready to tackle it all, but other days—even the smallest tasks feel impossible. No matter how much you do, there’s this constant whisper that it’s never enough. You may feel guilty, like you’re falling short at work, with family, or in life. That relentless pressure to be ‘better’ never lets up, and you’re exhausted from pushing through. But imagine feeling steady and in control, with a true sense of balance in your life. Picture moving through your day with confidence and peace, knowing that you are enough, exactly as you are.

Do you feel as though life is passing you by? As though you’re not in the driver’s seat of your own life? Oftentimes we go into autopilot mode because it’s familiar and feels comfortable. This autopilot mode can serve us, but when we’re constantly reacting to life automatically rather than responding mindfully, it can start to create issues for us. Therapy can be an effective way to break out of habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that are causing us problems. I create a nonjudgmental space where you can pause to explore how to live life more intentionally and wholeheartedly.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
