I am very comfortable working with people who are depressed, anxious, have a history of sexual abuse, or who have used self harm as a way to deal with their pain.
Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, or issues from the past the you just can't seem to let go of? Exploring your thoughts and feelings in the context of a supportive, nonjudgmental relationship with an experienced therapist is often helpful. I have many years experience helping people of all ages work through their hurt and pain. I utilize an empathic approach that stems from my training in pyschodynamic therapy and familly systems theory.

I work with couples, individuals and families. Through the process of therapy, you can develop new ways of dealing with conflicts, communication difficulties, grief and loss, and many other daily concerns. In a non-judgmental and supportive environment, you can make positive changes for a stronger today and future. I believe that addressing the relationship between couples may require a “sacred space”. This safe space can allow the therapist to work with couples in breaking down walls that may have kept them trapped in overwhelming situations, and aid them in developing deeper connections.

What is standing in the way of you and your inner peace? Peace is difficult to obtain when your mind is too loud. Perhaps your self care has been on the back burner and you've managed thus far but there has always been something amiss. It's time for change. Change is how we grow, how we thrive. Therapy is not cookie cutter, it grows and changes just like people do. Being a human is hard, and we all need support from time to time. Therapy is not about what is "wrong" or fixing what is "bad." Its about learning to live life on life terms, understanding your whole self and all of your parts in order to truly live and thrive.

I currently have flexible evening openings! I know life can be really tough sometimes, can't it? Whether you're dealing with old wounds, relationship problems, money worries, or just trying to figure out what's next, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. You might be battling depression, anxiety, or feeling lost and alone. That's a lot to handle, but you don't have to do it all by yourself. I've been working with adults and families from all walks of life for over 20 years now, and I get it.

ATTN: I am part of Lorenzi Health, LLC. Intake coordinators will contact and schedule new clients. So often we are faced with stressful and overwhelming situations that leave us feeling disempowered, drained, and at times even hopeless. In today’s world so many people struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, and life’s uncertainties. We all need an outlet “a release” someone we can turn to when we’re feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders. Someone we can trust and confide in without feeling judged or shamed.

Have you tried the standard, run-of-the-mill talk therapy before and found that it didn't quite get you as far as you were hoping? Or, have you been nervous about trying therapy and having to figure out what to say and how to say it? Perhaps, then, it's time to try something a little less traditional!

The ideal client would finally be open to change and hope to have better interpersonal relationships. This can be a client who struggles with their anxiety, possibly has poor attachment styles, and struggles with holding meaningful relationships (romantic, platonic, familial). Their goals would be identifying healthy boundaries and healthy responses, increasing effective communication skills, and identifying past relationships/present relationships in order to identify patterns/habits.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
