The way forward is to just start. So let’s begin where you are at. While you may think your problems are roadblocks to achieving more of what you want in life, they are actually pathways to understanding yourself and creating future possibilities. Understanding how your life experiences have shaped who you are today is important, but it’s only the first step. Learning specific skills, tools, and strategies can help you get more of what you want and less of what you don’t, supporting you to create a foundation for a life that feels more fulfilling.

The people I see are interested in working hard on the core issues interfering with their relationships and work. Therapy happens in real time in one's life, and should aim to resolve these issues without delay. When I see people initially, and when I teach other therapists, I emphasize that a feeling that something real is happening, that it is having an impact, should be part of the process from the beginning, even if one recognizes there is a lot of work to do.

This work isn’t just about managing symptoms; it’s about finding peace, purpose, and joy in the messy, beautiful life you’re living.
Navigating young adulthood can feel overwhelming, especially when you're juggling academic pressures, social expectations, and your own personal growth. If you're someone who often feels anxious, stuck in perfectionism, or weighed down by depression, you're not alone—and you don't have to figure it all out on your own either. As a therapist + coach, I work with young women, mostly college students, who are trying to make sense of it all. Together, we dive into what it means to embrace your authentic self, while building tools to manage the stress and emotions that come with life transitions.

Bring more kindness into your life.
The majority of my clients seek balance, clarity, and self-care and are facing normative life transitions or unexpected challenges across the lifespan. Typical challenges include stress, friendships, family relationships, body image and self-esteem, anxiety/depression, as well as transitions across college/grad school in young adulthood; career goals; and milestones such as marriage, divorce, pregnancy, parenting; or other health challenges that may require counseling or coaching, mind-body strategies and goal-directed wellness plans. The purpose is to build your confidence, compassion, and resiliency skills to flourish at any age.

I can teach you tools and skills you can use every day to be more present and enjoy life more.
Are you feeling completely drained - physically or emotionally? Maybe you can’t even remember the last time you felt well rested and stress-free. Living with stress, anxiety, fertility struggles, postpartum changes, cancer, or insomnia is hard enough but doing it while trying to manage all your other responsibilities can be draining. You may sometimes find yourself worrying about things you never used to even think about. The sadness you feel at times can make it hard to imagine reading a book, going out with friends, cooking a healthy meal, working out, sitting through another school play, or telling your partner about your day.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
