Have you ever wondered if you could live a fuller, happier life? Whether you are "too far gone" or "too messed up" to ever be okay? I’ve wondered that. In my journey, I've discovered that it's possible to struggle deeply, then rise higher than seems plausible. I've also found healing and wholeness is impossible without support from others. Now I have a passion to provide the care I've experienced to each of my clients. The support you need won't be the same as what I’ve needed. Because your story is not mine. But if you’re looking for someone who has walked a long road to wellness, consider reaching out!

I foster a warm and collaborative therapeutic relationship with my clients, while incorporating CBT, DBT, developmental, and attachment-based theories and skills into sessions.
I help those struggling with anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. In a fast-paced culture, we often feel pressured to achieve, impress, and perform. It is essential to have a space to slow down and explore challenging aspects of our lives, be it within ourselves, our relationships, academic and professional realms, or past life experiences that continue to have an impact today. Therapy provides a safe environment to identify and work through these challenges and learn skills that can shift our thoughts and behaviors in a healthy direction.

My treatment approach is integrative and personalized to my clients’ needs, focused on building a foundation of trust. I work with adults ranging from young adulthood through end of life, using a culturally-sensitive approach.

I offer a trauma-informed, attachment-based, and anti-oppressive approach to my understanding of healing, incorporating mindfulness and somatic experience into my practice.
Accepting new clients for the summer months, now through early September. I believe in the healing power of relationships. At its best, therapy can be a place of offering company and witnessing to the parts of you that feel the most alone, fearful, ashamed, and uncertain.

I work with adults at all stages who express concerns with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, relationship difficulties, and adjustment challenges to loss or life transitions. My approach to therapy is very non-judgmental and de-stigmatizing, which tends to help lower defensiveness and enable honest self-reflection. The psychological safety to reflect on deep seated trauma wounds, difficult emotions, or toxic shame is paramount to healing because they are often the primary drivers of most mental health symptoms and unwanted behaviors.

As a trauma-informed, attachment-based therapist, I’m not interested in fixing you. I am interested in simply getting to know you. That’s it. Of course, we will be working together on YOU. But our relationship will be the center of the work. I ask that you show up each session as yourself, as much as you can that day, and we will take it from there. If showing up as yourself sounds scary, I totally understand. I will always work to show up as myself, too. You can expect me to tell you about my cat, or the coffee place I’ve tried recently, or to talk about whatever book I am reading. My goal is for therapy to be a conversation.

I strive to create a warm, open space for exploration, support and collaboration. Through active listening and curiosity I work with people who are navigating life transitions, interpersonal relationships, symptoms of depression and anxiety, trauma, grief, and exploring their identity. Although I tailor treatment to individual needs, my practice stems from a primarily psychodynamic lens. I incorporate mindfulness, IFS, CBT, relational and existential theories. I'm also interested in how social and systematic forces play a role in our lives.

Many people are stuck. They cannot either make decisions or make decisions that do not help them move forward. This is like a bad Groundhog Day movie. Ineffective decision-making creates stuckness and futility. As founder of Three Worlds, I am dedicated in helping individuals to develop a practice of efficient decision-making. I work collaboratively with individuals in strengthening their ability to form decisions that increase life's happiness.

Healing is hard, we often find ourselves battling our inner child, our inner teenager and our adult self who just wants to be authentic. Some of us carry unchecked, unresolved wounds leaving us to rely on old, unhealthy ways. Unlearning some of these mechanisms is part of the healing journey. I invite us to be curious and gentle with all those younger parts as we guide your adult self to heal and feel safe. I use various clinical treatment approaches from a trauma informed framework to relational/attachment and emotion focused therapies. In addition to Christian faith/based counseling.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
