I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and I received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Trauma Studies Specialization as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University.
In addition to entering private practice with Leek Therapy, my clinical work in community mental health focuses on complex trauma and social justice. Working in non-profit organizations, correctional settings, and in the community, I developed a relational therapeutic approach that values trauma-informed and culturally responsive interventions. My work with adolescents, young adults, and families is grounded in the belief that all individuals deserve access to mental health care that feels safe, collaborative, and inclusive.

You deserve to be free from the control of trauma, find balance in your emotions, and discover true purpose and meaning in your life.
Are you looking for a therapist that feels like talking to a friend? Many people think that therapy should be a one sided conversation without any space to build an authentic relationship with your therapist. That is not me. Reaching out to a therapist can be intimidating so I hope you will take a moment to breathe and be proud of yourself. Maybe you feel like you have been living in a fog of emotion and can’t find the way out. Maybe you have realized that there are parts of you that have been neglected, forgotten, or hurt. Maybe you are feeling unsatisfied with your intimate or family relationships.

Women today are conditioned to fulfill many roles, be it by personal trauma, family pressures, societal norms, or multi-generational patterns.
With 25 years in the counseling field, I guide women out of self-doubt, fear, guilt, worry and stress and into a life of personal growth, self-acceptance, empowerment, authenticity and freedom. I use Western evidence-based practices of cognitive behavioral and other counseling therapies to help clients regulate their nervous systems, create better boundaries, improve self-care, and increase overall life satisfaction. I also incorporate time-honored Eastern traditions such as breathwork, yoga, reiki, and meditation to promote self-compassion, self-trust and self-love, all essential ingredients for meaningful connections with others.

I am a partner at Leek Therapy. A mentor of mine once described therapy as "two people getting to know one person." I think this in many ways encapsulates my understanding of how I hope to work with people. By helping people "meet themselves" with compassion and understanding, people can then make informed decisions about how they want to move forward. I strive to support clients in identifying their desires and values and to move towards living a life aligned with those values. I utilize Narrative Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy as well as Psychodynamic techniques to work alongside clients.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
