Life is never straightforward, and we are often left facing changes that are both surprising and difficult to navigate. Our shift into a new role, a disappointment at work, a problem in a relationship can cause us to feel anxious, angry, sad, and confused. We try our best to manage these struggles and their resulting shifts in mood and achievement, sometimes using coping strategies that turn out to be more problematic than helpful. We are left thinking, what happened? Will I ever feel like my old self? Why can't I just get over this?

Much of our suffering is stored throughout our body, leaving us with a racing mind and feelings of stress, anxiety, depression. By approaching healing through a lens that incorporates the whole-body, we will work together so that you can heal fully and sustainably. I specialize in working with individuals faced with persistent anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Many of these symptoms will manifest in relationship issues, difficulty sleeping, or poor motivation. Together we will explore the root causes that perpetuate your suffering and develop strategies so that you can lead a more fulfilling and joyful life.

The ideal client is the individual who is ready to both ask for and accept help. Change can be hard and it’s ok if you’re not ready. If however, you are ready and you’re looking for a safe place to better understand your challenges and how to overcome them, I can help.

Fully Virtual Practice: American stoicism expects us to “be strong” and “self- sufficient” pushing that pain deep inside. At one point or another, we are all the victims of problematic thinking and struggle to maintain balance in life. You don’t need a mental illness or diagnosis to benefit from counseling. If you’re tired of being stuck, let’s change that.

The ideal client is motivated to continue to work with their inner child to become grounded in the present moment. They may have anxiety, mood disorders, or personality disorders, or they may not be sure what is underlying their experience, which I can help identify as well. The ideal clients are open to trying new methods of healing, including arts and spirituality. They are willing to trust me with their feelings and express them, whether that is verbally, through the expressive arts, or both.

I specialize in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy). In addition to trauma, EMDR is effective in treatment of phobias, low self esteem, pain management, eating disorders, and performance anxiety. Life gets hard at times with increasing demands and a finite amount of resources. As creatures of habit, we tend to get stuck in what seems like a never-ending cycle. My clients come to me with a desire for REAL change. They may be managing long-standing mental health problems and/or new and chronic medical conditions. They also seek to improve their relationships and find out what makes their life worth living. In the end, my clients appreciate introspection and understanding the past, but believe that actual concrete change is needed.

Worry, Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, Grief, Overwhelming Feelings, Relationship Disasters... these are but a few of the issues that may lead someone to consider a professional who can support and assist you with your core concerns. I specialize in treating the human condition from a holistic perspective, always honoring the uniqueness of each individual and respecting their way of "being" in the world. Our aim together will be to explore and find revelations, resolutions, and solutions. Using a psychoanalytic approach, we will bring to light the driving forces behind the repetitive behaviors that tend to keep us attached to repeated outcomes.

You want to feel better and do better in your life, and now, perhaps more than ever, you need someone – someone REALLY helpful – “in your corner” to help you turn things around. I’m willing and able to do just that. Together, we can do this: I use a range of solution-focused approaches: treatments that work (CBT, DBT, and whatever else works). We’ll figure out exactly how you’ve “gotten here,” plan a way out, and I’ll guide you along the way…as we activate your strengths and your inner resources to live a better life. I work with adults, teens, and families and I’m available immediately to give you the help you need and deserve.

I believe in giving you tools you can use right away to start to feel better now.

My ideal client would seek therapy for their issues with processing trauma and acknowledging poor coping skills (such as addictions or low participation in life) used in the past to manage symptoms. They would want to use a cognitive behavioral approach to identify their cognitive distortions and negative thinking patterns and bring awareness and change to their behaviors.

Discovering your spouse's infidelity has left you reeling. You find yourself looking at your spouse and wondering who they are. You’re filled with anger, hurt, and judgment about their actions. But upon reflection, you’ve realized that — between work responsibilities, caring for your children, and life in general — you and your spouse have both been running on auto-pilot in your marriage, and you've undeniably grown apart. You can see now that there have been major problems in the relationship before the infidelity happened. You want to work it out, but conversations at home turn into fights full of blame and defensiveness.
