In over 20 years as an LMHC, I have worked with young adults, children and families.
Sometimes we know we need to make a change and it takes us a while to be ready for it. Sometimes things happen in our lives that require us to get immediate support. Whether it's needing a compassionate ear to listen to us, some new coping strategies to deal with ongoing stressors, or guidance on even where to start, we can all benefit from counseling. I am prepared to guide you through this process and work on your goals, whether long term or immediate.

Each person's needs are assessed to develop an approach which is best suited to the individual. Collaboratively a treatment plan is created, building on strengths. In addition to traditional therapy, a holistic approach is available. Traditional therapy with listening, assessment, support, and presenting an objective view enables positive movement. Integrating many perspectives widens the opportunity for balanced change. Drawing on over twenty years of experience, I counsel adults, adolescents, couples, and provide family therapy.

As a therapist, my goal is to ensure that my client feels heard and understood throughout the therapeutic process. My practice is rooted in empathy and compassion for whatever it is that clients are going through, with an understanding that each individual is able to continue their healing journey. Whether it be anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship issues, etc., I believe in the importance of a non judgemental approach to help explore such concerns with clients.

Do you want to understand yourself better, approach your problems with compassion and curiosity, and gain insight into your deepest drives and feelings? I believe that the practice of therapy will encourage you to expand your consciousness while simultaneously grounding you in the present. If depression, anxiety, substance use, family trauma, aging, or relationship obstacles are making life harder for you, I will work with you to identify areas you want to change and those you want to accept and integrate.

I enjoy working with people of all ages who are interested in finding meaning in and making peace with their lives. My high school English teacher left two indelible ideas in my head, a quote from Socrates "The unexamined life is not worth living" and the Latin question "Quo Vadis?" or "Where are you going?". Since then, I have not only held this sense of curiosity for my own journey but practiced the profession in which I get to be present with other people as they embrace curiosity for their own lives, face their challenges, losses and changes, heal their wounds, and find their directions.

Not accepting new clients
Currently only meeting with clients via telemedicine. In my practice, I focus on creating a calming space where reflection is welcomed. I believe in the importance of a space where you can fully live in the present moment with your thoughts and feelings. Life can be filled with hardships, challenges, and transitions. Within this space, I make it a goal to support all of my clients in finding their inner needs, wants, and strengths that often become dismissed through the chaos of life. I take a holistic, collaborative, and person centered approach as I fully believe the client is the expert of themselves.

I have extensive experience with adults, children, adolescents, and families and have enjoyed seeing so many people evolve into self-assured individuals.
Change is good, but change is also hard! In my experience, therapy is about working with individuals to help them reach their life goals, despite obstacles and maximize their potential. Despite the hard work involved, my mission is for therapy to be a positive experience. Simply stated, it should be a collaborative effort based on problem solving, support and the exchange of ideas. Additionally, treatment needs to be developed in the context of a person's life experiences and history. My hope is as treatment progresses individuals can move forward with what they have learned to independently facilitate future change.

I enjoy working with adults struggling with life transitions, stress management, and difficulty setting boundaries in their work or relationships. Whether it's a history of trauma, bad habits, overthinking, or your own expectations getting in the way. Work with me can include taking a deeper look at your defense mechanisms, creating more meaningful relationships, and gaining a new sense of empowerment and control over your life.

A therapist since 2002 with experience working with children and adolescents aged 5-18, young adults, and adults.
*NEW CLIENTS ACCEPTED via TELEHEALTH* Ever feel like you have a way to do something, and though it does not work the way it seems like it should, you feel it “works for you?” Do you find that you have a way of behaving and struggle to break free from yourself? I find that humans act in patterns. We think about a problem and act in a way that is the most comfortable to us and tend to repeat these patterns regardless of the result. I work with people living with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger concerns, separation/loss/grief issues, and people coping with discrimination.
