We are all so complicated. We love hard, we inflict hurt to our selves and others. But there is still so much beauty that lives within us all. I want to be able help you create the self-love, self-worth, self-compassionate and self- trust in you again. I have over 10 years in working with individuals that have experienced traumas in intimate partner and family violence. I am committed to supporting individuals to find that surviving self-love that lives within them, especially when feelings of brokenness and hopelessness is the only vision. We will develop communication with love and kindness for true change in our relationships.

I've been especially helpful to people dealing with relationship and parenting difficulties, postpartum depression, histories of abuse and trauma, eating and body image issues, addictions, grief & loss, and major life transitions.
Most of us decide to enter into therapy because we are in pain and we want to find ways to end the pain. We feel stuck, without choices. While we are drawn to change and growth, it can also be very scary. As your therapist, I see it as my job to help you find the courage to see yourself clearly, to harness your own strength and resources, and to discover your own answers.

I am accepting short term (6 months) therapy clients prior to an extended leave in January 2025. I believe that even if you are experiencing something difficult, you have knowledge, experience and skills we can draw on in our work together. I will listen closely to what is troubling you, as well as what is most important to you. I hope that my questions and ways of being with you make space for the precious elements of your life to emerge and flourish. If you have experienced trauma, abuse, racism, sexism, ablism or other forms of invalidation, reaching out may feel scary. My hope is that you feel safe within the context of therapy.

Searching for a therapist can be one of the most difficult parts of coping, healing, and self-empowerment, because it's the first thing you must do. You must force yourself out of your comfort zone and out of whatever routine you've had before, to take the initiative and embark on a new path. When we're at our best, stepping out of our comfort zones can be daunting; when we're feeling vulnerable, it can seem nearly impossible. No matter what prompted you to take this first step, I'd like to be there for your second.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
