I use an integrative approach, and am trained in mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy and solution focused therapy.
My role as a therapist is to facilitate change, help you find the strength and skills to move forward in your life. Life is challenging and complex and can present us with obstacles too hard to face alone. Therapy can provide you with a renewed sense of hope, self-esteem, and positive tools to make changes. I have extensive training in therapies to meet your needs, be it cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed, or solution-focused. Whether you are facing major life transitions, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, or codependency in your relationships, we will work collaboratively to help you reach your goals.

Using an integrative approach we begin to identify and process patterns and parts that impede change.
"Life feels too hard, too disappointing, too scary. I feel like a terrible person." Feelings are normal. We all have them but sometimes we become overwhelmed and get stuck in patterns that repeat unsatisfying results over and over. Whether from trauma, grief, low self esteem, addictive behaviors or attachment disruptions, I can help you shift toward greater satisfaction and ease in your life by listening and working together to focus in on core areas that have become barriers to your well being.

Hello and welcome. It is never easy making the choice to begin therapy. Confiding in someone you don't know takes a lot of courage. With so many professionals out there, it can feel daunting and overwhelming to try and find the right person. A person you feel comfortable with, a place where you feel respected, a space of trust and safety. When I meet with a new client, my priority is to make sure you feel safe, respected, and heard. By working together, you will realize you are not alone.

If you yearn for a more fulfilling relationship, greater self-esteem, healing from the past, or a more enjoyable and purposeful life, it means you’re paying attention. There’s always room for growth. Perhaps you aspire to improve one aspect of your life or several areas. Maybe you feel discouraged and lost because you’ve worked hard to make things better and haven’t seen a difference, or you’re newly aware of the need for a shift in life and this is your first try; either is okay. Successful change doesn’t have to start with self-confidence or a plan. It just requires the willingness to reach out and not take the journey alone.

Sometimes one seeks therapy to find immediate relief from distressing symptoms. Other times, therapy helps one investigate behaviors, beliefs, and relationship patterns, whether they be romantic, professional, or familial. With therapeutic guidance, every person/family can advance towards their goals. It is my intention to help you do that. I provide psychotherapy for adults, individually or in relationship(s), and families who are interested in improving the quality of their lives together, but may have some concerns as to how that could happen.

I have been a licensed psychotherapist for twenty plus years. In the past ten years, I have been certified in Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, EMDR, and use Comprehensive Resource Model, Internal Family Systems, Energy Medicine, and Emotional Freedom Technique. Integrating these modalities has been life changing for my clients when healing from trauma, depression, and anxiety. We all have experiences in our past that have created coping mechanisms that can now prevent us from having the relationships, success, joy and happiness that we are meant to experience.

What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
