At times it can be helpful to speak to someone other than a friend or family member. That's where I can help. As a licensed psychologist with 20 years experience and certified psychoanalyst I am trained to listen without judgement. Together we will explore your immediate concerns and past experiences. We will identify thoughts and feelings that may be leading to negative consequences, and work to remove roadblocks. You may wish to address a situation at hand or work towards change that is more long standing. Whether struggling in a relationship, grieving a loss, feeling stuck--speaking to a psychotherapist can offer hope.
My years of clinical and academic training has taught me to listen differently. I listen with clarity and without expectation. Over the years I have developed a special interest in the areas of coping with loss and aging. I am also interested in how change occurs through the process of speaking.
I have a Ph.D in Psychology from Fordham University, am licensed in Connecticut and New York, and am an approved CT Medicare provider. My psychoanalytic training was completed at the Westchester Institute for Training in Psychoanalysis. Prior to private practice, I worked in mental health clinics and was an Associate Adjunct Professor at Fordham.
