Choosing a therapist is a very personal matter, especially if you have never been in therapy before. Being able to talk in a safe environment is essential. I am a caring and empathic therapist with 20 years experience in body/mind psychotherapy. I bring to my work the utmost respect for the innate wisdom of each individual. As a former dancer, I have worked with many performing artists and as an Interfaith Minister I am comfortable with spiritual matters. I specialize in body/mind therapy based on the Rubenfeld Synergy method. I believe that the body and mind are intrinsically interconnected. By helping the client become aware of their body's story as well as the mind's, we are able to come to a fuller understanding of the whole.
I also utilize EMDR, and IFS (Internal Family Systems). EMDR is an effective therapy in working with trauma. IFS is an approach to understanding why roles/parts of the personality were established in childhood and how they can be transformed as an adult.
