The single most important factor predicting a successful outcome in therapy is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. As you look for a therapist, keep in mind: feeling like that person gets you is the top priority. I am licensed in Alabama and Tennessee and have over 19 years of experience with a wide range of mental health settings and concerns. I use a systemic (relational) framework to help people balance individuality and togetherness, to better communicate their needs while listening to the needs of others, and to establish a clear sense of who they are.
I specialize in trauma recovery, long-term recovery from addictions, and couples and families who may be dealing with relationship conflict, infidelity, discernment about divorce, life stage adjustment, and simply pursuing growth and development. I use evidence based models and practices such as EMDR, Bowen Family Systems Theory, and the Gottman Method.
My style is directive and warm. Clients have told me they appreciate my insight, honesty, humor, and authentic support. I offer in-person and telehealth appointments. I do not treat children.
