My mission at Generations Individual and Family Treatment Services, LLC is to build healthy families and bridge kinship gaps. I have worked in the mental health profession for 25 plus years. My goal is to assist individuals, couples or family members in living their best life.

I’m Wanda Harris, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in both Louisiana and Mississippi with 28 years of experience as a therapist. I’m also an Ordained Minister and College Professor. I typically work with adults and some teens, at least 16 yrs of age. At this time, I don’t have an age limit. I work with both men and women, and I have experience working with dually diagnosed clients with both mood and/or anxiety disorders and substance use issues.

In seven years of psychotherapy work with children, adolescents, college students, adults, and families, I have found that unhealthy levels of stress can worsen problems related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and beyond. These issues often lead to additional problems at home, school, or work and ultimately affect relationships with friends and family. Struggling with difficult life transitions may have a significant and lasting impact on the mind. It can be hard to navigate these situations or to know where to turn.

My areas of focus include trauma & PTSD, borderline personality, and couples struggling with ineffective communication and conflict resolution due to trauma. I also work with men on social skills, dating, anxiety, and feeling lost as they navigate the unique challenges of our current day and age. I'm passionate about helping individuals understand how past negative experiences are influencing their current thoughts and behaviors; I believe your experiences and problems are unique, and I would love to be part of your therapeutic journey.

As a psychotherapist, I strive to create a supportive and hopeful atmosphere where you may safely address barriers to leading a life that fulfills you. I use a blend of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, EMDR, and mindfulness-based therapies, drawing from my own training and practice in mindfulness.

I have experience working with children aged 6 and older, including teenagers and adults. I have the most experience in anxiety, depression, stress, women's health, grief, trauma, PTSD and foster parenting.

Maryelizabeth LeBoeuf, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialty in child and adolescent psychology. She has been in practice for 19 years. She has experience treating children and adolescents in diverse settings, including residential and day treatment programs, as well as outpatient clinics. She also completed a fellowship at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children with rotations in psychoeducational and behavioral assessment, pediatric endocrinology, and eating disorders. Areas of focus include ADHD, behavior disorders, educational and behavioral assessment, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and mood disorders.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors that have challenges embracing major life events that impact their ability to function at home, school, work, and the community.

The clients I work best with are those people who seek change and harmony in their lives and are willing to put forth effort to overcome the obstacles to achieving it. Basically, if you have problems and you're willing to try something different, I want to work with you! Counseling is exploratory and not one-size-fits all. Being open to exploring yourself and experimenting with new ways of approaching your problems and your world are essential to progress.

My role as your counselor is to help empower you and help you find your path to a peaceful, positive and balanced life. I work with a wide variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, emotional abuse, relationship issues, self esteem issues and divorce.

Life is so much harder than it used to be. We are constantly being challenged and it is often hard to determine what the best next option would be for you. Often times it is difficult to find the best way to manage daily challenges and understand how to meet expectations set by others as well as ourselves. It can be hard to manage stress, worry, sadness, past trauma, and relationships. It is important to remember that you are not alone and there is room for things to get better. The focus is to identify the best way to manage each situation, it is a struggle to know where to start.

I was inspired to get into therapy after seeing a counselor when I was around 20. In just one session, he helped me understand so much about my life that everything finally made sense! That experience motivated me to help others in the same way.

After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1987, I have enjoyed treating hundreds of clients with OCD. I also offer assistance with Hoarding Disorder and am featured as an expert consultant in nearly 33 episodes of the A&E series HOARDERS. I do not treat out-of-state clients, That is, all clients must live in Louisiana.

At "Tower of Refuge Christian Counseling, LLC," (located inside of the "New Orleans Growth Center, LLC"), I provide Christian counseling that aids in mental and emotional restoration by assisting my clients in achieving a healthier quality of life, focusing on the mind, spirit and restorative power of Jesus Christ. With the highest levels of client satisfaction - I will do everything that I can to meet your counseling needs by providing therapy in the areas of depression/ anxiety, grief/ loss, stress management, parenting skills, conflict resolution, building healthy coping and communication skills, couples and individual as well as adolescent/ teen counseling.
