I want to help you. My name is Rick Jackson and I have 14 years of experience with a wide variety of issues and concerns. Many people struggle from time to time with a variety of mental and emotional issues. One of the best assets a therapist can have is listening. I will utilize that skill to help provide guidance as we begin to develop the goals you want to achieve in therapy.

Hi! I'm glad you're taking this step to feel better. It can be difficult to seek help and acknowledge when we are struggling, but the process can be so much easier with the help of an unbiased therapist. We might be a good fit if you are experiencing anxiety, uncertainty, and desire some compassionate support. I also enjoy working with couples to address negative communication patterns, and to restore trust. I approach the therapeutic relationship as a team effort. Together, we will address your challenges and come up with workable solutions for your daily struggles.

The typical population I see are medically stable 4-18 year-old outpatients who are referred by their pediatrician because of suspected neurobehavioral challenges, disruptive behavior, or mood disorders. Associated comorbidities, such as tics, OCD, anxiety, panic disorder, family conflict, and autism are not necessarily uncommon for this group. I commonly employ comprehensive psychological assessment to assist me in teasing out potential adjustment difficulties and collaborating with youth and their families to enhance behavioral health. These may include medication, referral for counseling, or both.

Life gets hard and we ALL go through it. People sometimes find themselves in a rut and need help digging themselves out. Finding understanding, empathy, and support during those difficult times can be tough. I am passionate about helping others heal, grow, and reach their goals in a safe space without judgment. Though I incorporate other approaches such as attachment theory, art therapy, and somatic body awareness.

I am currently accepting self-pay clients only. I charge a reduced fee based on a sliding scale. Reaching out for help is the hardest step that someone can take. The last few years have taken a toll on everyone with the adversity that we have experienced. Not only are we facing new challenges daily, but we are also suffering from the stressors of the last few years.
