Healing happens within the context of a respectful, caring and nonjudgemental therapeutic relationship. When we work together, you can be yourself. I want to see you and help you to understand yourself in new ways. I am direct, while also gentle. I hold a lot of space for empathy and understanding, and building trust. And of course, there is always room for humor on any journey! I use a combination of evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral (or "talk") therapy, expressive arts, music and mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques to connect with you and help guide you toward feeling like the best version of yourself.
Therapy can look a lot of different ways, and I will work with you to find a way in which our time together facilitates growth and healing, from a client-centered approach. My opinion is that you should be in the driver's seat, and I am there to help you to navigate.
With children, I use a holistic, developmentally appropriate, child-centered approach to play therapy. Play offers a safe and nurturing way for a child to cope with and express their emotions, while developing new solutions and coping skills to navigate their day-to-day life. I come with an abundance of experience working with children and families.
