Lou Ann Wilroy is passionate about supporting clients in their healing journeys with a collaborative and caring approach. Lou Ann helps adolescents (ages 14-18) and adults with a wide variety of concerns tap into their inner wisdom and connect with themselves to make lasting changes in their lives. She listens without judgment and partners with clients to identify and achieve their goals, hopes, and dreams and move toward greater authenticity. Integrating the whole person into the therapy process with holistic practices, Lou Ann creates a space where clients feel safe, accepted, and heard.
Lou Ann is a Yoga Alliance-registered yoga instructor with 500 hours of teacher training, including 300 hours in trauma-sensitive yoga. She is certified as a trauma support specialist and has extensive training in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). She also is certified in Psychological First Aid. Her primary areas of focus is trauma recovery.

Original Path Counseling is excited to be offering Dialectical Behavioral Group Therapy for Adults this Fall, starting 9/19/24! Participants will focus on developing the following skills over 12 weeks: Mindfulness - How to be present in the moment, aware of oneself, and attentive to one's language and thinking. Distress Tolerance - How to cope and understand one's emotions, build resilience and coping skills, and reduce distress. Emotional Regulation - How to know and recognize present emotions without letting them dominate one's life. Interpersonal Effectiveness - How to express oneself clearly, effectively, and assertively to maintain relationships.
