Our goal at Los Angeles DBT is to make DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) accessible to everyone. We are psychotherapists who are "Intensively Trained" in DBT and provide DBT skills groups, individual sessions, and coaching. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a skills-based treatment which helps you better regulate your emotions, especially the difficult ones. With DBT you will learn how to have more successful relationships with family, friends, & loved ones. DBT will also provide tools to increase your ability to manage distress, and be more mindful of your thoughts, feelings, and overall environment.
DBT began as the premiere treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder and then grew to be successful for treating a multitude of issues, including depression, anxiety, mood swings, and a variety of addictions. DBT is evidenced based (that means researched intensively and approved by science). DBT is provided through individual therapy and skills groups.
We have been intensely trained by Behavioral Tech Institute (Marsha Linehan and her associates). These are the experts who originally developed DBT. Individual sessions can either be on Zoom or in person. Group sessions are only on Zoom.
