I have 30 years of training and experience with individuals, couples and families facing various challenges. As an adjunct professor in an accredited marriage and family therapy graduate program, I am familiar with major models of psychotherapy. I treat clients and supervise therapists in treating sexual dysfunction, blended family issues, child and parenting concerns, abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), non-suicidal self-injury, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, divorce adjustment, trauma recovery, self-esteem, eating disorders, sexual impulse control disorders, stress and anger.
A strong couple relationship has an enormous impact on individual well-being. In a family, the couple relationship affects the entire emotional atmosphere of the family. I have made couples therapy a core part of my practice because it is challenging, yet rewarding.
My model of choice is Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy because it is empirically validated for effectiveness. I'm certified and supervise other therapists in becoming certified in the model. I have been extensively involved in and published research related to couples therapy.
