Managing life’s demands can be stressful. I see people who are struggling with anxiety and worry, panic attacks, relationship conflict, or difficulty with past traumatic events. Maybe you realize your life is not working well but you’re having trouble understanding your options, or maybe you fear change or uncertainty. Psychotherapy can assist by helping you recognize options, change faulty thinking, helping you to free yourself from past hurts and wounds. It is both challenging (sometimes we need a "push" to confront our dysfunctional behavior or thoughts) and supportive because change happens with encouragement and accountability.
Therapy is all about "match." I am a caring and receptive professional who uses research-proven methods and approaches to best help you identify and change troubling areas of your life. My approach is largely from a CBT perspective but crafted to fit your unique needs and preferences.
In the first session, both of us will be determining whether we can work effectively together- Are we a good "fit?" From that point forward, I will ask you to be active in your treatment. That may involve some "homework" at times to help you keep on track and making the gains you want to see.
