I am excited to be a part of Flourishing Lives Counseling Center as a master’s level counseling intern, providing therapy under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Rivas, licensed clinical psychologist. As a licensed and certified speech/language pathologist, I have 16 years of experience working with kids and adolescents, as well as an understanding of today’s public school procedures. As your counselor, I will strive to understand what matters to you and address the challenges you are facing with gentleness, kindness, and a sense of hope. If faith is important to you, I am happy to provide care from a Christian perspective.
I also have a heart for adults who are struggling with life’s unexpected challenges that have resulted in relationship issues and/or feelings of depression, anxiety, worry, stress, and other uncomfortable emotions. I believe that effective treatment involves getting to know the whole person, including thoughts, feelings, perspectives, and beliefs.
My goal is to support you in exploring and understanding your issues in a way that helps you develop the skills you need to effectively build or repair relationships, find workable solutions to problems, make healthy and informed decisions, move towards achievable goals, and approach daily life in a more positive manner.

Groups
Postpartum-Onset Depression Support Group
Have you had or are you currently experiencing postpartum depression? Feel free to attend this support group. Come & meet other moms who are struggling to hold onto the joy of motherhood. Share stories & struggles, learn strategies, & build a support system with new friends in a safe place. This group will meet for 8 weeks this summer, from 6/6/2024 through 8/15/2024 (no session June 13th & July 4th). $5 each session, or we can submit to BCBS PPO or Aetna PPO insurance.
