Hi, my name is Lorena Mendez. I am a Licensed Social Worker. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Therapy to me is supporting others to achieve their goals. When I am not providing therapeutic services, I am working out or spending time with family and friends. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. I have found that my approach to working with others in different age groups who are going through life changes and social stressors has been successful.
I assist clients with creating goals that they feel align with their needs. I treat every client with respect and empathy. I like to create clear boundaries with my clients. I like to provide a safe space for my clients. My communication style is calm and respectful. I am understanding and easy to talk to. I have been told that I am a good listener.
I spoke to a counselor and learned about Social Work and how I could help others with a degree in Social Work. I went and received my Bachelor's and master's in social work. Being able to help others at different life transitions and being a witness to their change and achieving their goals is what drives me to do this work.
