There’s no denying that life can be hard. Whether you're experiencing grief following a loss or the pain of unmet expectations; you find it difficult to focus through a spiral of anxious thoughts; or you have challenges communicating with your partner in a healthy way, we all struggle to find our equilibrium sometimes. If this sound like you, counseling could be a helpful next step. Together we can explore ways to rethink old patterns, learn new coping skills, and engage with yourself and others in a healthy way. I offer sessions in our Durham office (not far from Duke's East Campus) or online via a secure virtual platform.
Each person’s story is different, so I use evidence-based tools like ACT and CBT alongside an approach that incorporates your own unique experiences and strengths. I've received additional training through Postpartum Support International in perinatal mental health and I have experience working in hospital, community clinic, and private practice settings.
I know the thought of starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it's your first time trying it out! Engaging in the work of self-discovery isn't always easy or quick, but I believe it's worth it. It's a privilege to be able to join you in the process of healing and growth.
