Parents and children have incredibly tough jobs. Parents are supposed to love, support, teach, protect...while children are supposed to explore, learn, push boundaries, and scare the living daylights out of the adults in their lives. Sounds easy right? What happens when our job as parents is made even more difficult by life circumstances? Now the hardest thing we'll ever do raising our children is made even more challenging with a child struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma. What do you do then?
That's where I come in. I offer a two-pronged approach to therapy. I work with children to help them manage their anxiety, depression, and other concerns while also meeting with parents to help them learn how to best support their children during these difficult times. I utilize aspects of trauma-focused therapies to best meet each child's individual needs.
Being a parent and being a child is already incredibly difficult without adding additional stressors to the mix. You and your child do not have to struggle alone. My flexible approach to therapy is ideal for the dynamic nature of families. Please reach out to discuss your concerns and hear more about how I can help you and your child live your best lives.
