Coping With Trauma Related Dissociation
Coping With Trauma Related Dissociation follows the book by the same name written by Boon, Steele, and Van Der Hart. We are learning skills for managing dissociative and trauma-related symptoms. From the back cover of the book: "readers have a compassionate, readable roadmap to understanding dissociation... and developing lifelong skills." The group starts with mindfulness and homework review, and then a discussion of the chapter for next week. Participants will have weekly reading and daily homework assignments.

Helene Recovery Group
Group EMDR treatment for those struggling with distressing images, thoughts, feelings, or dreams about the recent natural disaster. This is a highly effective, evidence based treatment that uses written word or drawn images, rather than talking about the distress. Participation can be in person or online. In person attendance is limited to 8 per session, due to space limitations. Group is open to persons aged 14 and above, though children can be screened for participation at a different time. We are asking for donations, but group is free to those in need.

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) Skills Group
DBT was initially developed and researched for borderline personality disorder and substance use disorders, but has since been shown to be effective for PTSD, treatment resistant depression, self-harming behaviors, and ADHD. The group teaches skills modules for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and, most importantly, mindfulness. This group will rotate the modules, alternating 2 weeks of mindfulness with 4 weeks of each skill set in rotation. Members are asked to commit to attending 6 weeks of group, and can recommit at the end of each 6 week cycle. This is a hybrid group, on-line and in-person.
