Life can be challenging, those who reach out for support are allowing themselves to grow and evolve. My approach/philosophy is holistic, meaning my focus is on the whole person, and is grounded in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies. I often incorporate other modalities, depending on the needs of the person sitting across from me. I believe passionately in working collaboratively, understanding how I practice and the methodologies I use is critical in the process.
I work with adults, adolescents and children to help them recognize what is working well in their lives and to help identify and tweak patterns of behaviors, thoughts and actions that may be serving them poorly. When patterns develop, they often are quite sneaky, and before you know it they become automatic - and that includes the good and the bad.
The efficacy of any kind of therapy relies heavily on the therapeutic alliance (meaning the relationship between the therapist and client). This alliance is critical and serves as the foundation for growth. I urge you to call around, ask questions, and get a feel for who is right for you.
