I am passionate and dedicated to creating a trusting relationship and safe space for the process of narrating your personal story. Over 10 years I've worked in community-based programs with both teens and adults. I especially enjoy working with young people ages 16 to 25 (Transitional Aged Youth) a population that’s often overlooked and underserved. Having personally struggled myself during that time, I know how to identify with that challenging life transition and sometimes overwhelming decisions of "What's next?" let alone the bigger question of "Who am I?".
Talk therapy using Narrative & CBT methods is a primary focus while Art Therapy is a specialty offered to those who have interest in combining art and creativity with the traditional approach. Artistic mediums are used to promote self-expression, self-esteem, skill-building and play, in order to facilitate further growth and communication during treatment.
I've chosen to work in settings that promote empowerment and healing using strength-based, humanistic approaches. My early life experiences laid the groundwork for my interest in serving others, it gives me a unique lens in which to provide support and non-judgment for whatever you are facing. Art Therapy & Mindful Self-Compassion
This is for adults who consider themselves to be in the prime of their "mid-life" (40's -60's). February 24th - April 14th. We'll meet online every Wednesday 6:00pm - 7:30pm for 8 weeks. We all could use practice with Mindful Self-Compassion. What better way to add these concepts to your life than with Art Therapy? We will use the Mindful Self-Compassion workbook by Kristen Neff & Christopher Germer. Besides emphasis on age, this is an inclusive group for all genders, cultures, ethnicities, and sexual orientation. $40 per group or $300.
