I view each person as an expert of their own experience, with therapy as a collaborative process focusing on an enduring connectedness with others and the world. I use an empathic, compassionate, and direct approach, which may allow for safety and trust to develop. Supported by my undergraduate training at San Francisco State University, and graduate training at the California Institute of Integral Studies, I believe in the importance of socio-cultural, environmental experiences as they contribute to the innate resilience and compassion within each person.
I have over 10 years of clinical experience providing mental health services in both urban and rural communities. My treatment approach is eclectic, and while attending to the unique clinical needs of each individual, the treatment focus that may integrate solution-focused, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and/or interpersonal, relational, psychodynamic approaches.
