I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I have gained years of experience in community, school, and hospital settings, working with adolescents, adults, families, couples, and groups. I have experience helping people to adjust to life transitions and deal with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship and other adjustment issues. I offer a bilingual and multicultural approach to counseling services in English and Spanish.
I view counseling as a therapeutic relationship that can help clients gain insight and understanding of self-defeating and other destructive behaviors. During the counseling process, the goal is to help clients gain personal insights, develop strategies, and come up with real-life solutions to the problems and challenges they face in every area of life.
I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including, but not limited to, Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused CBT, Solution-focused brief therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My primary therapeutic purpose is to assist you in defining and achieving personalized treatment goals aimed at improving your quality of life
