What if you could be confident, healthy, and excited about your future? What if problems like stress, weight management, and pressure from others no longer controlled your life? I believe you can achieve this, and much more as we work together.
Do others take so much of you that you’ve run out of pieces of yourself? While you’re taking care of work, family, or school expectations, how would you have time to even notice your own needs? I work with so many women, from college students to busy professional moms, who know this feeling. It seems we’re taught that our self-worth is rooted in other people’s opinions, instead of how we see ourselves. That can leave us dealing with stress, low self-esteem, weight frustrations, and more. In my 25 years of experience, I’ve never met a woman who wasn’t strong, resilient, and much more than how she sees herself.

I enjoy being able to join clients on the journey of exploring their innermost thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; as well as the impact they have on their daily life.
As a therapist I believe therapy is about progress not perfection! I recognize therapy can be intimidating and overwhelming. That being said, I truly value the supportive nature and positive impact therapy can have in a person's life. My goal is to help my clients dive deeper into their personal story for the purpose of healing. I believe it is important to look at their current situation as well as the past and future to accomplish the most meaningful growth possible.

Specialty Areas: Anxiety, depression, substance use, life transitions, LGBTQ, Women's Issues, suicidal ideations, workplace stress, families with loved ones with mental health issues.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Masters in Counselor of Education from UW-Whitewater, I've worked 10+ years primarily with both outpatient therapy and higher levels of care in behavioral health, including partial hospitalization and psychiatric inpatient. Self-compassion, even in the smallest doses can make such an impact on someone's perception of life. I've realized that self-compassion was missing in my world. I have learned the art of letting go of life issues that are out of my control; working through difficult emotions instead of avoiding them; and then most importantly making time for myself!

Feelings of anxiety, of never being good enough, are affecting the way you see yourself , your relationships with family and friends and you feel blocked. It's taking a toll on you, and you know this isn't the way you want to live anymore.

Using a combination of solution-focused, strengths-based, and behavioral therapies, I'll partner with you to transform how you see yourself and experience your life.
My ideal clients are adults and teens who possess one or more of these personality traits: high sensitivity, emotional intensity, or giftedness (above-average intensity, drive, complexity, and empathy). If this sounds like you, you may feel like you don't fit in or belong in the world and wonder about life's meaning and purpose. You experience many deep emotions throughout the day that no one else seems to understand, leaving you feeling lonely, guilty, ashamed, or depressed about your thoughts, behaviors, or coping methods. You may be asking yourself, "What's wrong with me?"

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
