If you’re ready for a shorter-term, practical approach to your goals, it would be a joy to help you go from merely coping to building a fulfilling life.
I help big-feeling high achievers resolve emotional overwhelm, so they can accomplish their ambitious goals with confidence and ease. Despite being eager about their growth, empathetic, and having a dry (alright, dark) sense of humor, when my clients come to me, they're stuck. While therapy has helped, there's a missing piece. The insights they gained in therapy aren’t translating to their real- life problems. They aren’t the confident person they want to be. They're insecure in their relationships. They’re missing out on professional opportunities.

For the ten years before becoming a therapist, I worked as a certified life coach, supporting people in achieving their life and work goals.
Are you wanting to commit to your partner and/or get married? I am certified in Prepare/Enrich, a customized, non-religious, committed partnership/marriage preparedness program designed to help you and your partner prepare for the commitment you are undertaking together. You will understand how each of you views important topics that support your long-term relationship and work through differences before they become problems. Whether you're facing an existential crisis, relationship issues, loss, significant life changes, or feeling out of control, I am here to help.

Certified as a Professional Life Coach, (with a background as a Psychotherapist for Washington Residents Only) I enjoy helping people who are navigating Change. Change is the constant in our lives and sometimes it is helpful to have someone ask you the right questions to help you access your own inner resources and wisdom. These areas of change may include: vocational callings, stage of life, relationship shifts, changes in environments, and many others. I also do lots of work with people exploring issues related to their spiritual lives and journeys.

Ultimately, you'll feel compelled to live life the way you want and not how others want you to live.
I am on a mission to always strive for a better way to counsel middle-aged women who are considering or are now serving as their parents' primary caregiver/carer—a role-reversal few are prepared for especially if there is a history of unreported sibling physical and sexual abuse. My lived experience as a primary and long-distance carer coupled with over 20 years of counseling experience provide the foundational knowledge, clinical experience, and compassion necessary to validate and empower women serving as caregivers for aging parents—often without the support needed to maintain their own mental health wellness.

It is inspiring to celebrate growth, see how life can positively change, and recognize strengths present the whole time.
You are not meant to be perfect; you are meant to be whole. A whole life is a mixture of good and bad. Both experiences are needed to for a wider perspective and to allow for a full appreciation of the positives in life. I work with kids, tweens, teens, and beyond, either individually or as a family, to help you achieve the life you want. We will explore your current experience, and where you want life to go, then figure out the needed knowledge, skill-building, and actions to move you (and/or your family) toward your goals and ideal life. You deserve a happy and fulfilling life, whatever that looks like for you.

When life feels presents us with stress, whether it be from anxiety, depression, or trauma, it is not uncommon to feel overwhelmed and a sense that our lives have become unmanageable. My greatest satisfaction comes with assisting individuals in recognizing their power to grow and thrive. I assist my clients, who include adolescents and adults, in finding ways to change their relationship to thoughts and emotions and develop a stronger sense of self, establishing core values, and creating an action plan linked to goals based on those values.

I believe that each client is the expert of their own lives and it is my job to assist them along the journey of their life.
The common misconception is that therapy is for "crazy" or "sick" people. Instead I believe it is a chance to work with clients on how to use their challenges as opportunities for change and growth. It is also a time to better understand our view of the world, examine any relationship issues, and become better versions of ourselves. I focus on each individual's unique characteristics, instead of what a diagnosis may say about them.

Using a combination of biofeedback, mindfulness, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy you learn the skill to develop more confidence in your ability to take back control of your life and love your soft-hearted nature.
You're overwhelmed by your stress & anxiety, and frankly by emotions in general. Maybe people tell you that you are too sensitive, and you believe them. You hate that you feel so much all of the time. To protect yourself you work hard to "be normal." You try to keep your emotions in check by numbing, or over-doing, or holding yourself back, or isolating. What you don't know, yet, is your sensitivity is your unique gift, and that all of your strategies have served you well in the past, but may need a bit of an update to support you better as life continues to change and you continue to evolve.

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
