I am an Ackerman trained family therapist who has been practicing for over 30 years. I enjoy working with couples who have tried to repair issues in their relationships but have reached an impasse and need the help of a professional. Similarly, parents come to me when they are having trouble with their children and need some guidance and support. I am pragmatic and focus on returning couples and families to their lives as soon as possible by providing them with coping mechanisms and strategies to face challenges in the future without the need of a therapist.
As a family therapist I specialize in working with couples and families struggling in their marriages and/or as parents. I have worked effectively with parents of adolescents with eating disorders as well as parents of children with any kind of special needs.
I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship. It is essential for clients to feel comfortable working with me. That is the beauty of the free consultation. I tend to be open about myself, where clinically appropriate, and expect my clients to give me regular feedback. While I am an expert, I value the input of my clients.
