I enjoy my work with children, adolescents and families, and have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2005. I employ a variety of theoretical orientations and modalities, from attachment theories, family systems, object relations, cognitive behavioral therapy, and play and art therapy. Theory gives us a foundation to conceptualize, but it is the individual, context, and culture which inform our work.
I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis on Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy (2001) from Pepperdine University. I have over 20 years of therapy experience working in community mental health and private practice. Additionally, I have over 10 years of experience working in schools.
My parents and siblings were born in China, I was born and raised in Hawaii, and I have lived most of my adult life in Seattle. My background allows me to fully appreciate the immigrant story, and the importance of understanding a person in their world. I am a mom to three children and understand the beauty and challenges of parenthood.
